1. Scintillators

To study heavy-element inorganic scintillator materials for particle detection and high-energy radiation applications.

Our aim is to develop and discover scintillators used for commercial radiation detection. This includes providing tailored materials for particle physics experiments.

Industrial Applications: Crystalline-inorganic scintillators are extensively used in the fields of medical imaging, security inspection, nuclear instrumentation and high energy physics.

Fundamentals: Scintillating materials absorb the energy of ionizing radiation (i.e. gamma ray or subatomic particles), and emit bursts of lower-energy photons.
