The CMCG group has various methods in synthesizing certain crystals.

Barium Borate (BBO)Barium Borate (BBO)

Barium borate (Ba(BO2)2)

is a synthetic single crystal BBO and a very important nonlinear optical material for photonic applications.

Pyrite / Iron Pyrite (FeS2)

Commonly referred to as fool's gold, are found in copper and iron deposits (chat with Susanna on this). Pyrite can naturally form perfect cuboid crystals.
